Dear Friends,

We are happy to inform you that our PIL regarding Road Traffic Hazards has been accepted by the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India and it has taken this issue very seriously. This PIL has been filed mainly for the problem of traffic jam/congestion on urban roads of India but it has also raised the issues of road accidents and vehicle induced air pollution. We request you to please give your suggestions regarding ‘How to decongest our urban roads?’ that can be applied at a national level. This will help us to pursue this case more effectively and we would be able to make some guidelines/decisions at a national level.

You may give your suggestions under these groups;[1]  infrastructure of urban roads [2] controlling vehicle number [3] traffic management [4] public transport system[5] town planning [6] for non motorized commuters e.g. cyclist, pedestrians, etc [7] guidelines to withdraw very old vehicles[8] others if any. Now we believe, to control this problem, in addition to local measures we need to take some major decisions at a national level. You can also mail us at: tsunamionroads@gmail.com or consciouscitizenindia@gmail.com

Please also find the 10th road traffic digest. From this digest onwards we are starting a discussion on various human errors on the roads that are responsible for accidents
